Primary Duties and Responsibilities
o Provide various services for individuals in a wide variety of settings including but not limited to classroom, residential setting and community inclusion. o Provide services for individuals in a classroom and residential setting. o Train and work with direct care staff assigned to classroom and residential setting. o Provide assessments, develops and implements active treatment programs and documents response to treatment for individual. o Attend and participate in quarterly and annual IPP reviews and various other meetings regarding the individuals' services/programs and team concerns. o Provide written quarterly and annual assessments in advance of scheduled IPP reviews. o Work as a member of the interdisciplinary team. o Coordinate and assure community training trials pertinent to individual programs. o May be expected to accompany individual on community trips. o Respond to duress alarms (blue dots) and intervene as needed. o Provide active treatment within a therapeutic environment. Ensure active treatment takes place. o Other duties as assigned

Salary Range:
From $49202 to $62806 Annually

Any current Habilitation Specialist 1 Any permanent employee eligible for a 70.1 transfer. Anyone eligible to take the Civil Service examination for Habilitation Specialist 1 Promotional Opportunities:

Qualifications:
A qualifying Bachelor's Degree in Human Services and 1 year clinical/or direct care experience or a qualifying Master's Degree in Human Services. QIDP standards preferred. QIDP STANDARDS ARE:
o The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) adopted the federal definition for Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) in all ICF/DD, ICF/DD-H, ICF/DD-N and DD-CNC facilities when the Federal ICF/IID regulations became effective in October 1988. The federal criteria outdates the state regulations specified in the California Code of Regulations, Title 22. o QIDP is a staff who is responsible for integrating, coordinating and monitoring each client's active treatment and who possesses:
o (a) At least one year of experience working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities or other developmental disabilities. o (b) Is either a physician and surgeon, or a osteopathy physician and surgeon, a registered nurse, or a human services professional possessing at least a bachelor's degree in a human services field, including but not limited to sociology, special education, rehabilitation counseling or psychology. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
